About this Tree Name:- Satsuki Azalea (Rhododendron Indicum) Origin:- Japan How big:- 51cm tall from the rim of the 44cm wide pot This beautiful tree will make a wonderful bonsai subject It has an awesome trunk measuring 13cm across at 5cm above the soil surface. The root flare at soil level measures 27cm across. This is a raw piece of Bonsai material that requires development into a style more in keeping with the superb trunk that lies beneath the glossy foliage. The flowers produced by this tree are pink and white. This is a hardy tree but would benefit from shelter from severe frost. It is presented in a plain Japanese pot. The inset picture shows the tree after pruning in summer 2008. This tree was photographed whilst in flower, but the flowers only last 6 weeks or so each year so they may not be present at the time of purchase. All our trees come with free care instructions.
